I would love to have some, but provided sufficent time period is given for us to complete the question ( Not too many tho.. )
Pace of teaching is suitable for myself....

1. dont really understand the topic, but trying hard to.
2. want more challenging questions to try out, but like what toxin said, want more questions that are likely to come out for O levels.
3. teaching pace is moderate.

1. Do you understand the topic well ?

I found this topic a little similar to E maths, hence it is easier to understand at first. However, the later part of the topic is harder than i've expected. EG- (T/B: Exercise 24.3)

2. Do you want me to give more challenging questions ?

I prefer Questions that are almost similar to "O" levels. Giving us Challenging Qns will benefit us. But some of us, esp me would not be able to do it. :(
Maybe you can give us the solution for those challenging Qns.

3. Is the pace of teaching too slow/moderate/too fast ?

The teaching pace is fine, moderate. Just a little rush in terms of revision.

1. Do you understand the topic well ?

okay. well. i can say that i do understand the topic well just that when it comes to the integration sometimes i do have doubts in finding the C. But when you went through, i understood or rather being enlightened. However sometimes i do on my own, i can't get it. eg. e^x

2. Do you want me to give more challenging questions ?

I don't mind. Hope to have answer sheet so when have doubts can refer to it straight away.

3. Is the pace of teaching too slow/moderate/too fast ?

The pace is moderate.

1. yeah, i understand the topic well... quite fun haha
2.i think that giving more challenging questions is a good idea... makes us think
3.the pace of teaching is moderate... don't go too fast or many of us can't catch up.

I am fine with it.. nothing much just nid u to face us when explaining. I,m ok wif qns tt are more challenging but i tink is up to de majority. Pace is ok but if Miss Soon will be more active and help de students more , de pace could den go faster.

1. NO I don't understand the topic well.

2. Do not give questions that are more challenging than o level standards.

3. Teaching pace is moderate. But questions are too difficult to understand.

:(

1. I understood the topic well.

2. I would prefer more challenging questions so that we can test ourselves to the limit and think out of the box.

3.Teaching pace is moderate.

other comments: I think having miss soon in the class to co-teach is really helpful. Sometimes when we don't know which part of the question we nt wrong, she pointed out our mistake which allows us to understand better.

Me is a understanding questions, me wants challenging questions, and
me likes your pace of teaching.

I wants another half a marks so i am going to say these:

Definitely i think that you shpould hold morw saturday classes as it is definitely healthy and definitely beneficial to us ones.

hello Mrs Toh

1) not at all. angles, velocity and distance is just too much for me to handle.

2) if it's relevant, sure.

3) it's moderate. it's the topic that's tough.

others: is it possible if you gave optional emath revision worksheets, like the amath ones with answers? if you have worksheets already.

thank you!!

No comments for Q1.

Challenging questions --- MY FAVOURITE!!!

No comments. I don't care about the pace of teaching. Just right pace by looking from class view.

-----------------------------------

I wish all QWSS students a happy life and good results. Any other questions don't ask me - ask mrs toh.

relative velocity is vry hard to understand!

if challenging qns are gonna help me in my O's, why not

pace of teaching is moderate though sometimes is fast

Anonymous said...

toh!

1) yeah we more or less understand the topic, though it sometimes gets boring.

2) We do not mind, as long they are within our limits.

3) Teaching pace is cool. Just don't go too fast.

Comments: Zheng yan, this one not compo, no need the hence and howevers. oh ya, a maths is ok. Just need more revision stuff.

the topic is rather easy when its first introduced. But when it comes to solving those long problem sums,it can be rather confusing.
yes, hope to have challenging questions.the pace of teaching is moderate.Maybe teaching this topic in smaller groups would help.

Anonymous said...

1. I don't really understand the topic well. I have problems understanding the aircraft part.

2. Yes, do give more challenging questions so that we are better prepared for the o'levels.

3. The pace of teaching is moderate.

Other comments: The chapter is very hard. So I think we need more practice. And I also think that we need exam papers to do as part of revision.

arwin said...

1. yes, so far i can understand what mrs toh is teaching about relative velocity.

2.Yes, i wish that mrs toh would give us more challenging questions, because the 'TOP 30 schools' are giving very challenging questions to their students which would give them higher chance of scoring distinction at O level. Therefore since other 'TOP' schools where doing it that way, why don't we follow their style? so as to ensure that we will do well for our o level.

3.the pace of teaching i would say its moderate, because most students including me can follow what mrs toh is trying to teach us.

Anonymous said...

1) I understood the first part but as the topic goes into detail, for example, long problem sums,I don't really understand.
2) I don't mind trying out.
3) The pace of teaching is alright for 402,it's just that I have problems seeing the figure and applying the skills correctly.

1. Do you understand the topic well ?

yes, i think that this topic is relatively easy to understand with careful teaching (pun not intended). however, it can get a bit confusing sometimes. i'll refer to them later.

2. Do you want me to give more challenging questions ?

right now, for my class, i dont think so. in fact, i think basics are always more important than the tough ones. building a strong foundation ensures that we understand tougher concepts in the later part, even with trendy and more challenging questions.

3. Is the pace of teaching too slow/moderate/too fast ?

i think it comes as no surprise to you that i will find it fast sometimes. my class does have problems grasping concepts fully. although no one does raise this out, we do have problems sometimes. for me, i think that the pace is too fast for 402.

OTHER COMMENTS
since our class is co-taught by you and Ms Soon, i think that it would be better if you concentrate the teaching and understanding. i hope that you would not come to a decision whereby you decide to segregate us and make one group do revision and the other to continue doing challenging RV questions. ultimately, RV is a compulsory topic to be taught and we want to learn how to do the question. it will come out for the O level examinations. so, i hope that maybe teaching group by group would be more efficient, rather than one teacher attending to 40 pupils. (which means 1 teacher to an approximate of 20 pupils)

Thank You!

Anonymous said...

understanding wise, i think i'm okay with it after some explanation from friends, but yeah, overall, i understood the topic

you may wish to give more challenging questions, due to the fact that the questions that come out for O levels are challenging, right?

and lastly, the pace of teaching is okay overall! :)

Anonymous said...

1. ya at first 0nly, but in the later part of the t0pic,it is m0re difficult. but when u g0 thr0ugh the questi0n , i understand better

1) Nope, don't really understand it. It was simple at first, then it got harder and harder.

2) Okay.

3) Teaching pace is fine.

Anonymous said...

1) Not really. It's kinda hard to know well this chapter and grasp it.

2) I would like to have them cos it will be beneficial for me to understand the topic more.

3) Pace of teaching is a bit too fast :(.....

Anonymous said...

no i dont understand the topic well..
like certain parts can understand but not all...
as long as the challenging questions are coming out for O levels, then i dont mind.
pace of teaching is alright for most times, but there are occasions when i cannot really catch up.

i dont mind having an extra lesson for relative velocity and some of the more challenging topics for slower students(me,haha) in order for them to have better understanding of the topics.

i am not JUST doing it for the points, but it IS an incentive.hehe.

Sorry Mrs Toh I am desperate for another half a mark, so i would want to put my other comments..lol.

MY COMMENTS::)

This chapter is very confusing, perhaps more wkshts to be given out for us to do??? I hope i dun make ppl angry here... anyway i hope that sat class can revise on relative velocity....
Any questions for this topic, go ask eric from 405. He loves people asking him. Haha jk....

1. Still okay. But sometimes i understand and sometimes i don't. Kind of confused about how to draw the correct direction/triangle.

2. Maybe a few questions. so that we can try.

3. The pace is moderate.

Anonymous said...

1)) hmm, i understand it ok, so far.but the questions at the later part seems tougher, more confusing.

2)) i think one or two challenging questions is ok, but best to give the standard questions.

3)) the pace is between moderate and fast.

Anonymous said...

I don't really understand the topic well.

I don't want more challenging qns, cause I'm unable to cope with those qns that I'm having now.

The teaching pace is too fast, it would be much more better if it is slower.

Other coments:
Having Miss Soon in the amaths class lately is good as she helped me to clear much of my doubts about maths.

i am curious why teacher teach students in their subjects but not in their moral??? how come there are so many smokers and non-virgin in the school? i think the teachers should be treating their students more fairly!!!!!

christina says: i do face some difficulty in understanding this topic. the pace of teaching is alright though.i would prefer to have more questions to be discussed in class. i think it will be more efficient if mrs toh, could come out with those questions' solutions which is supposed to be go through in class on pieces of paper before the lesson. i think this might be more efficient in our learning. =)

I have come back for a second round of comments!(Sorry, it's a very long one)

Only for class 405 (402 and 404, read through carefully if you think it is good for you).

I feel that 405 should focus more on Paper 1 for E maths since most of us in 405 did not do very well.

However, do not ignore Paper 2 stuff and a maths just like that. Even though Paper 1 does not involve the use of calculators, from my experience, Paper 2 is MORE challenging than P1. As long as you know how to control the use of calculators, you should have no problem doing paper 1.

As for paper 2, try to get the maximum marks possible to save yourself. As long as you get above 60 marks in your Paper 1 and above 90 marks for Paper 2, I think you should be safe scoring an A1 in the exams.

As for A maths, for a guaranteed A1, try to score an overall percentage of 80% (65 marks for both papers). But don't let these 2 subjects affect your other studies.

Making inferences are very important as well, especially in congruency. Example, a square has all sides and angles the same. As long as you know how to derive at an answer, and know these inferences well, I think you should be able to finish the paper at least 20 minutes before the time is up.

And 1 more thing --- everyone pay attention --- just use as many papers as possible for rough working. Just ask from the invigilators for MORE papers. It's worth wasting papers by doing so. Trust me.

Hey Mrs Toh

I would say that i can understand the topic well but I'm not sure for the later part of the relative velocity as I've flipped through the textbook and it seems quite difficult.

I would certainly love more challenging questions to test how much i know and attempting these more challenging question would help us to be able to score more marks in prelims and o'level. But i think we should do the easy questions also if not we would only know that difficult qns and not know how to solve those easy one.

The teaching pace is just nice but I think that you should spend more time on the more difficult parts as we are still new to it.Spending more time would not mean wasting time but we would be able to understand it better.

Anonymous said...

1. Do you understand the topic well ?
Yes , but not very well though . I only understood the front part of relative velocity. But I dont really understand the part on aircraft .

2. Do you want me to give more challenging questions ?
Yes , but we may not have enough time to complete it . Perhaps you can give us the solutions and we, as students can work out , and ask you if we dont understand .

3. Is the pace of teaching too slow/moderate/too fast ?
Hmm , I think it is moderate . But sometimes it is going too fast .

1. Do you understand the topic well ?

Hmm i would say that i have moderate understanding towards the topic.
Sometimes its through guessing that i will just get the answer correctly.
RV can be quite confusing without the diagram but sometimes its difficult to understand what is the question tyring to say.

2. Do you want me to give more challenging questions ?

Challenging questions will be good but please do not give questions that are way too difficult.
If possible, can you give challenging questions that are very likely to be coming out for Os.
Hmm you can save time by giving us the solutions too. In this way u won't need to go through all the Qs that we don't know and through the solutions we might be able to understand better.

3. Is the pace of teaching too slow/moderate/too fast ?

The pace of teaching is a bit fast but its understandable as there isnt much time left for revision.

Hmm, mrs toh THANKYOU so much for the concern of the students well being that you have shown. Ths saturdays lessons, qsst work and the library sessions last time. It really did improve my results =D

Hmm i have a small request. I understand that the teachers now are stress about our studies and are pushing us all.
It is good in a way that we know that we need to work hard, but i hope that the teachers too would give us some breathing space.
Sometimes we students can't perform our best under so much pressure and we will turn out flopping out test instead of scoring.

yup. thankyou=)

hi cher...

1)the 1st part of the topic is ok. the aeroplane, bearing all this very very very hard.

2)if the challenging qns r benefitial, plz give us. but give us o level standard and not harder. coz everytime i kena demoralized by what i find hard

3)pace of teaching is moderate. yet sometimes the important topics seem to pass by very quickly

thank you, Mrs Toh

HELLO MRS TOH !!! :D:D:D

for the topic i understand around 70%. maybe because i was sick for two days and i didn't know what was taught. i'll ask around.

challenging questions ? i would love to do it. BUT , i would love to do questions comig out for o levels more. ^^

pace of teaching? its better with ms soon helping us along. but she don't seem to walk infront of the class and help pupils sitting infront.IM SAD. ):

it's hard sometimes but then, just use eye power and stare stare stare!!!then after staring, sooner or later, will get it so no worries about that.haha

i know i have sleeping problems but yeah,i think challenging questions keep me awake but not to the extent that it's so hard!

i think the teaching speed is like 120km/h.nah i'm just kidding.haha teaching pace is okay =)

This topic can be quite confusing at times. Especially drawing the triangle thing.I think providing those questions that will come out for o level will be quite benefitial.
